About SOFF OCC

Your cricket club in Sri Lanka

SOFF Overseas Cricket Club exists to make organized cricket in Sri Lanka more accessible to players who live overseas.

Many cricket lovers can travel to Sri Lanka but cannot bring a full team, find suitable opposition, judge the local standard, secure a ground and coordinate a complete match. SOFF brings those elements together.

Our purpose

To help an overseas-based player move from:

“I would love to play cricket in Sri Lanka, but I do not have a team.”

to:

“I found a suitable fixture, booked my place and knew what to expect.”

How we operate

Our operating principles

Appropriate cricket at every available level

Winning is not the only measure of a successful cricket experience. A close Level 2 recreational game can be just as valuable as a high-standard Level 6 fixture. The right match matters more than the highest label.

Asset-light and relationship-driven

SOFF initially works with existing Sri Lankan grounds, clubs, players, officials and service providers. This allows the programme to grow through real demand without requiring a new ground or academy before launch.

Respect for local cricket

Sri Lankan opposition players, officials and operating partners contribute real value. Their participation should be arranged clearly and paid fairly where payment has been agreed. Local players are participants or service partners—not automatically investors or equity owners.

Reasonable ordinary profit

SOFF intends to build a sustainable business while keeping standard cricket accessible. Ordinary fixtures should carry a reasonable rather than excessive margin. Special experiences can be priced separately when their costs and value are genuinely different.

Honest communication

An open fixture is not described as confirmed. A player is not promised an inappropriate level, a particular performance or an unavailable service. Long-term ideas are not presented as current facilities.

Clear status, every time

Every listed fixture displays its playing level, format, location, price, booking status, minimum participation threshold and confirmation deadline. An open fixture is not yet confirmed. Once SOFF confirms a match, booked players receive the final venue and participation briefing.

Looking ahead

What may come later

If the core match programme succeeds, SOFF may gradually explore more playing levels, more Sri Lankan locations, training programmes, selected cricket formats, equipment development and—in the longer term—an internationally recognized cricket academy.

These are future possibilities. The immediate job is simpler: organize dependable, well-matched cricket for overseas players.

SOFF does not own a ground or academy at launch. SOFF initially uses existing cricket infrastructure and partner relationships. A larger academy is a long-term possibility, not a present facility.

SOFF may test additional participation-focused formats later. No such fixture should be assumed unless it has been specifically published with its rules.

The test for every page

Does this help an overseas-based player understand whether there is suitable cricket, what it costs, what is confirmed, and what to do next?
